Andre’ Andrews, Sr.
1st Vice President

 

          Andre began his career as a transit operator with the Municipal Railway in August, 1990.  He worked part time under the then “unfair” system of non-civil service for 13 months.  In September, 1991, after showing solidarity with TWU Local 250A, Andre’ turned full time.  He operated out of Woods and Presidio Divisions.

          In December of 1998, he received his call to be a 9139 Supervisor, moving over from TWU Local 250-A to TWU Local 200.  Andre became involved in union business as a shop steward for street operations.  He then became a member of the TWU L 200 executive board as member at large, serving as the voice of the membership to the president of the executive board.

          As the 2nd Vice President, Andre’ is responsible for the shop stewards and the Step 1 & 2 grievance process.  Andre’ believes that, “We must all stand together in these most difficult times that we have had in over 30 years or everything that TWU Local 200 has fought for will be lost.”
